Vertis' outlook is simple. Nothing changes unless someone shakes something up. He does this by committing robberies and assassinations; he feels no remorse for these killings or thefts simply viewing them as "What has to happen".

Personality

Vertis is very devil may care. But despite his outlook, he's not incapable of sympathy like when he killed someone who has been threatening a family for years, making them fear for his lives. Empathy isn't his strong suit however, emphasized by his "every man for himself" perspective that shines through when he and Rosa talk.

Relationships

Rosa | Vertis and Rosa are rivals in terms of ideology and occupations. Vertis is determined to make Rosa accept what he considers reality. Vertis has paid her visits off work to talk to her, but both of them are so stubborn, it ends with neither agreeing.

Rosa is a detective tasked solely with hunting Vertis. She's an optimist and lives strictly within rules that're set. As a contrast to Vertis, she struggles with the concept of taking someone's life viewing it as an unnecessary loss and avoidable.

Personality

Rosa is a kind and positive woman. Living on her own and joining the police force fresh out of college, she's actually rather intelligent, scoring the highest GPA in her entire college. Her stubbornness contributed to that with her cramming as much information into her head as she could.

Relationships

Vertis | Vertis and Rosa are rivals in terms of ideology and occupations. Rosa views Vertis' actions as harmful and thinks he's only making things worse. Despite this, she still tries to talk to Vertis trying to make him stop, but it never works. The two on occasion are mistaken for friends, and both of them despise the notion.

 Off-Duty Meeting I walked down the street before spying Rosa entering her favorite coffee shop. I followed her slipping in-between people before finding my way through the entrance. The place was bright, homey, the walls lined with a pink that mimicked Rosa's hair. It was tacky, but where else did I expect her to go?   Seer's memories  A figure stood in a void that twinkled softly like thousands of stars were around him, cloaked in a grey robe, a blue scarf blowing in a non existent wind. My first musing

Thoughts At the beginning of life, from, conception we are dealt a hand, be it from a well off hand, or one that could not win against the most incompetent player. You are familiar with tarot cards, yes? All 78 in a deck. Fool, Emperor, Death, or the jester. From birth we are all the fool, a being of unlimited possibilities, able to grow up to be anything we desire. As we age we can change what card or arcana we belong to. However, the thought of life being on rails has occurred to me. The fear of life being an unchangeable series of events, and everything is coded into our life story. That every trial and effort to change our path, is just a curve in our set destination. Much like a railroad, every attempt to be different is just a spin or turn in our path.
